On-us AI Challenge 2026 Concludes, Empowering 30+ Secondary School Students to Build with Frontier Technology

2026-09-22

On-us AI Challenge 2026 has successfully concluded, bringing together more than 30 secondary school students from five local schools for a week-long, hands-on innovation programme at the Cyberport ABC Centre in Hong Kong.

Students tackled a real business challenge inspired by On-us’ domain — reimagining community engagement through rewards — and used AI Agents, Design Thinking, Model Context Protocol (MCP), and Vibe Coding to build working prototypes from scratch.

From LEGO Bricks to Working Prototypes

The week opened with a LEGO® Six Bricks session, using collaborative, hands-on play to build creative confidence and an innovation mindset before the technical work began. From there, students moved through three progressively intensive stages:

One week of Design Thinking and AI masterclasses and workshops — covering human-centred design methods, AI agent frameworks, and the practical application of MCP and Vibe Coding to real product development

48-hour prototyping sprint — students moved from user research through to a minimum viable product (MVP) in under two days

Final showcase — presented to an audience of more than 50 students, industry guests, mentors, and educators

Bridging Enterprise and Education

For On-us, the AI Challenge is a direct expression of the company’s commitment to creating opportunities for young people from diverse backgrounds to experience frontier technology in real commercial settings.

On-us looks forward to continuing to connect enterprise and education, and to building more opportunities for the next generation to learn, experiment, and create with technology.
